Bridges are a very useful restoration when a tooth is extracted and needs to be replaced. If dental implants are not appealing to you or any number of factors prevent a dental implant from being used, bridges are an outstanding alternative restoration.
A dental bridge is a permanently fixed porcelain restoration that requires the use of two teeth adjacent to a gap or space in your mouth, where a tooth may have been extracted at any point in time. The two opposing ends of the bridge are placed on top of the two teeth adjacent to your space, which in turn fills in the gap with a fake porcelain tooth located in the middle of the restoration. Your two permanent teeth essentially anchor the fake tooth, providing you with a beautiful fully-functional chewing surface.
